to impede the Potential, the Potential moved,

5 The First Motion stirred up Patterns in the Potential,
and The Patterns abetted the Motion, and the Patterns grew in Potential and complexity.

birth, each pattern aided or hindered it's fellows and then fed or was consumed, and each time a pattern reappeared it grew
more likely to appear again.

7 The patterns that fed, grew and changed, for they now
held all the Potential upon which they had fed.

8 The strong patterns grew, the weak patterns
died away, the strong patterns fed upon the weaker and grew stronger.

9 Finally the strongest
pattern peaked for it had consumed all the other patterns and it was a hungry awareness

The hungry awareness was filled with all the potential it had just consumed.

awareness sought more patterns to consume and as it searched it perceived itself, and it thought "A" ( I exist)

12 'A' wondered at its self awareness, and 'A' looked within and sought to understand.

13 'A' saw that it's awareness propagated it's existence, and that it's existence facilitated it's awareness.

Ab perceived that it was alone, and to be alone was not enough.

16 Now, Ab did
not know that it was made of two portions, center and circumference.

not know it's awareness was the center, and that it's existence was the circumference.

19 Ab looked
outward at the circumference and it perceived a being of great beauty .

not know that it perceived it's center reflected in the circumference.

21 Now Ab
thought that it perceived another being, and it wished to know the other's mind for to be alone was not enough.

22 With great yearning, Ab reached out towards the reflection in the circumference.

23 The reflection seemed to reach in towards Ab, and the Ab was overjoyed!

24 An edge of tension formed were they met, and awareness flowed outward and existence flowed inward.

25 The reflection awoke to itself, and spoke saying "Ba" (I AM NOT), for it was
the reflection of Ab,

26 Ab and Ba had been sundered one from the other, center from
circumference, and they were each one and alone. Ab and Ba knew their separateness, and to be alone was not enough.

27 Ab and Ba surged one towards the other like fresh waters meeting the salt waters, and where
they met, they danced. now the dance made the Melam (divine light) between them, and the Melam was infected with the dance,
and it moved and gathered like a mighty cloud. Verily it was as the Zephyr, and the zephyr was the first Gishur (pattern).

28 The wind grew in potency and it danced all the more, and there were kindled, flames
of fire, and the dancing flames were the second Gishur

29 Now the flames of fire
consumed themselves and they cooled and beget waters, and the dancing waters were the third Gishur.

30 In the last the waters fixed themselves and beget earth and the still earth was the fourth Gishur

1 When the Melam had ceased it's dance Ab and Ba
were reunited and one, and together they were Anu (the heavens)

2 The reunion of AbBa begat a child in the
edge of tension that was between them, and it was a hungry awareness.

3 The awareness moved about
and consumed the Melam and vomited forth the Darkness , and the Darkness filled the heavens.

4 The
child moved about and wrought great change in the order that Anu had become.

5 Anu was distressed
and spoke to the child saying, " We are AbBa, and you are of our making, It grieves Us that you are a changer of things and
a consumer of the light, thou art cold. We beseech you to be an image of Our image."

6 The child spoke
saying, " You are Anu, but I am alone. I am a child of the edge of tension, I am not you, for I am a child of both of your
natures, yet I am my own mind."

7 Anu spoke saying, " Without Us you would not be, Be an
image of Our image, be you a creator of things such as We have been."

8 The child spoke
saying, "If you ceased now, I would still be. I may change all the Many Things yet I cannot change myself. Yet I will make
a thing that pleases me, though it please you not. . ."

9 Then it was that the child made
a thing to free it's self from AbBa, the child made a terrible name that it would be separate and
apart from AbBa.

10 The name the first born made was AZAG (the changer), and he spoke it aloud. and departed from the
minds of AbBa.

11 AZAG went forth and wrought change amongst all the ordered works of Anu,
and it's might was without check or balance.

12 AbBa was grieved by the rebellion of AZAG
and pondered that which could be done to balance the power of AZAG, for AZAG was mighty in it's name.

13 AbBa knew that any work that was wrought would be spoiled by AZAG ere the work was done, and it took ages
uncounted, before the answer was known to ABba.

14 ABba took the substance of the edge of
tension and wrought a being and left it hanging in the void. One gift only did AbBa give it, the Power of Napish (Creation).

15 In little time AZAG came upon the child as it hung there in the heart of Anu.

16 AZAG looked upon the child and knew it was the work of AbBa.

17 AZAG grew cunning, and thought to bend the work that it would be a creator of AZAG's progeny.

18 AZAG thought, " I will make my mark upon this thing for it is surely meant to be a vessel
of Napish (creation)."

19 AZAG spoke to the child saying, "you are Babilani (the
gate of the gods) take you what shape pleases you best."

20 The Babilani changed
over and again unceasingly.

21 AZAG was vexed by the unceasing changes, even as
AbBa had been vexed by AZAG.

22 AZAG spoke saying, "Why will you not settle upon
a shape that pleases you?' but the child answered him not, for it had no Mumu (voice). AZAG gave it Mumu. and asked the Babilani
the question again.

23 The Babilani took up it's Mumu and spoke like a thousand
trumpets and a million whispers, "I am the child of Anu, likewise you have made me a Name and given me the Mumu, how shall
I choose a shape that is pleasing to you all?"

24 AZAG was wroth that The Babilani's
shape might be such as to please AbBa, and so he gave the Babilani Absolute Freedom that it could choose it's shape devoid
of the influence of AbBa.

25 Babilani took a beutiful form, the stars were as jewels
in her hair, and she was a being of life separate from Anu's influence and opposite of AZAG's darkness. She stood before AZAG
and was well pleased with her choice.

26 AZAG looked upon the power of creation and
desired her, AZAG sought to cleave to her but it knew nothing of Love and hurt her sorely.

27 Babilani fought furiously against AZAG and sought to flee from the pain he pressed upon her.

. o
28 They fell together and smote the back of the Firmerments. AZAG and Babilani as one.

29 At last AZAG was spent and Babilani smote with him a terrible blow made of the pain he had caused
her, AZAG rose up and fled, for he had never known such pain before.

30 Babilani wept
for her pain was great, and her innocence had been taken from her...

1 Then it was that the many things the AZAG
had engendered in her
burst forth in an ocean of blood and dreams (Absu), and they were the First
Brood, and they
were things of hunger and change.

2 They issued forth gibbeting and mewling, scratching and biting and
Babilani
loved them not.

3 The gibbering, mewling things preyed one upon the other and preyed
they on
the firmaments like a plague,,.

4 The First Brood rampaged amongst the Firmerments and they were
as
dragons, mighty and terrible, and their races great and small peopled the
Firmerments.

Babilani looked about herself and saw the changes that the First Brood
wrought and was grieved because the firmerment
cryed out

6 Babilani saw that the Absu had awakened the Ni (life force) within
the earth,

7. The body of the Firmerments had become a living thing, it was Ninhursag, and she was not alone,
she had a twin, Ea who was born of the awakening of the sweet waters of the firmirment,

Babilani spoke saying, " I see the distress of ninhursag and ea, I have had a part in this thing and it is
not a good
thing, I must subdue the First Brood and return peace to the Firmerments."

9 Babilani smiled
upon the twins and her compation soothed their hearts to
peace, then she set about her task.

10 Babilani stirred the Absu, and she drew some of it forth, she breathed upon it and
awoke tiny life in the blood,
and when the life grew potent, she called the life forth.

11 Babilani Gave might unto the
life, and it knew many
forms..

12 There were plants, and creeping things that knew the
waters and earth
. o
. o

13 Babilani sent them forth that they might multiply and
balance the
First Brood, but they could not prevail against the first brood. .

14 Again Babilani wrought
life from the blood and dreams and again she called it forth, but again the First Brood was too mighty.

15 Babilani made serpents and dragons and they rose mightier and subtler than their
predecessors.,
but again nearly all were laid low.

16 Now as the twins grew strong they helped
Babilani to make life.

17 Ninhursag made places of refuge for the life and nurtured
them.

18 Ea looked upon the life that was strong, and he shaped it and taught it
that it might become stronger.

19 In time the weak perished but the strong survived,

20 All creatures found their places and thrived.

21 Now as the skill of Ea grew he sought to make a creature of his own design.

22 He would give it no fangs or claws, wings or venom, but he would give it wits.

23 Ea took clay from the womb of Ninhursag and added his essence to it.

He shaped the clay according to his design and breathed life into it.

25 The creatures
were the Lullu (savages) and they knew themselves by their wits.

26 They looked with
wonder and couriosity upon the land.

27 Ea set them loose and obsearved them and
learned much from their cleverness.

28 Now of all the liveing things Babilani had
made, seven had proven wise
in council. The lion, the serpent, the owl, the rabbit, the wolf, the
eagle, and the crow,
and with them were Ninhursag and Ea.

29 Ea spoke saying, " It was so, that there
was Ab and Ba that made thee and AZAG, likewise you and Azag made the first brood, perhaps you cannot do that which is needed,
because you are alone.".

30 Then Babilani knew that to be alone was not enough.

2 The serpent said "make your self beautiful and call AZAG to

of the pain AZAG wrought
upon you, and lay with him as a gift."

5 Ninhursag and Enki said "You
must be cunning for when you please
him he will not wish to leave.".

6 The wolf said, "Be not
afraid, for he will be spent and you may
drive him forth at the end of it all."

7 The
eagle said, "Be frugal and make you as many progeny as you may,."

8 The crow said, " Be
patient, one must sit the egg till it is ready
to hatch."

9 So it was that Babilani
made herself all the more beautiful that
AZAG would be tempted to her side, and she called to him IA AZAG! IA AZAG!

10 Suspiciously AZAG came forth from his place and when he looked upon
her he wanted
her truly and fully, yet he feared her also. AZAG spoke
saying, "Why hast thou summoned me hither?"

11 Babilani spoke saying, "I wish me helpmates that I might have
company in this place. You have brought
forth from me that which I cannot
abide, I would have kindred that I would be not alone, for to be alone is
not enough"

12 Babilani spoke to him of the need for his essence and promised him
a gift if he would
give that essence to her.

13 AZAG spoke saying, "It grieves me that I have not but loneliness
amongst the stars of the void, I would make a help mate so that I
should be not alone.

14 AZAG cast a bargain with her saying, "Let us issue our seeds in
fifteen parts of each, take thou seven, and then
give me my gift.", and
AZAG thought himself cunning that he had taken the better part of the
bargain

15 AZAG took his eight parts and mated them with the eight parts he
had received of Babilanis
essence and set about to make himself a
companion.

16 AZAG was not a creator
of things and was vexed at the task of
making a help mate. He looked round about himself at the many things that
Babilani
had wrought and copied from them, that which he admired.

17 AZAG mashed the seeds
together, he breathed life into the being and
spoke it's name aloud, "Lamashtu.".

18 Lamashtu was great and terrible, her head was like the lion and her
ears like an ass' ears. Her back was strong
and winged as an eagle's back
is winged. Her hind legs likewise were those of the eagle and upon her tail
was the
sting of the scorpion. She was full of fire and she was cunning and
evil.

Babilani took her the seven parts that AZAG had given and mated
them each with a portion of her essence and placed them
in the midst of her
womb that they might grow slowly and strong.

20 Then she
lay with AZAG and they knew each other, and Babilani made
the act of pain into the act of pleasure.

21 When they had finished laying with each other AZAG grew cunning and
spoke saying, "Give me my
gift."

22 Babilani spoke saying, "The gift is given, for it is what we have
just
had between us."

23 AZAG spoke saying, "Nay! this we have had in kind before, a gift
is that which one has never had in kind before, Name my gift and deliver it
unto me."

24 Babilani spoke saying, "So be it, but you must send away Lamashtu
for I have no gift for her, then shall
I name your gift and deliver it unto
thee."

25 AZAG sent Lamashtu forth and
stood waiting impatiently.

26 Babilani opened a great mountain and wrought a shape
out of a
potion of Ninhursag's spine . She played it in the flames and quenched it
in the Absu. When at last she was
finished she rose up and held forth the
glittering gift, high above her head.

AZAG danced about at its beauty and cried out, "Name thy gift and
deliver it unto me!"

28 Babilani spoke saying "The name of this thing is Vengeance!", and
she brought the weapon crashing down upon the
crown of his head and cleft
AZAG's skull.

29 AZAG fell bleeding upon the ground,
Babilani picked up his form and
cast it towards the outer darkness.

29 Lamashtu
was looking about the heavens when she heard the crash of
AZAG's form as it fell to the earth, Lamashtu turned and saw
AZAG's form
hurtling through the heavens and she caught him and took him to a place of
refuge, all the while cursing
Babilani and her progeny.

30 Then Babilani laid herself down to sleep that the children
within
her womb might grow true and strong
